About
A self-guided tour that takes you back in time
Location-triggered narration outdoors, tagged rooms indoors, a view of each spot as it was a century ago, and a feed of short clips the site's own staff contribute. Everything the visitor touches works with no signal at all.
Where it starts
Hindsight sells globally — heritage sites, reserves, estates, museums, anywhere with more history than a printed board can hold. Namibia is where it starts, not what it is for.
The pilot site is Kolmanskop, the diamond-mining ghost town outside Lüderitz. Its positions and compass bearings were recorded on foot, one December morning, from the vantage points the reconstructions are built on. That is the standard every site after it is held to.
What we hold to
A reconstruction says so
Generated views carry their label on the image, every time. A visitor is never left to guess which century they are looking at.
The place is the authority
Names, dates and identifications are confirmed on site before they ship. Where something is unconfirmed, it waits.
Credit travels with the work
A story is credited to whoever wrote it. Curated material carries its source and its licence, and only licences that plainly allow it are accepted.
